Well recently i’ve had a lot of requests on how i’ve attached my BP filter to my camera… so i thought i might as well post a write up…
Note: in the pitures i’m using the original focus lens that came with the camera but this method could also be employed with a wide angel lens or a fisheye lens. Also it this technique can employed with any camera that has a manual focus lens. For fisheye or wide angle lens your bandpass filter need to be at least 30mm in diameter.

Recently i purchased a wideangle (120degree viewing angle) lens for the xbox360 vision cam… from an ebay store the lens came well packed and was delivered to me in 5 days.
At first looks the lens looks perfect, it fits snugly into the xbox360 vision cam holder and is able to focus the picture perfectly. but on closer inspection, as you will see that he holder is not perfectly centered to the ccd chip on the on the camera pcb, as a result the 2 top corners are not fully visible.

Well in my recent testing i found out the IR bandpass lenses i bought were to narrow for my setup…. so therefore i got a new lens from Omega labs’s ebay store. The lens i got was a 880BP86 it is a much wider frequency pass to allow more of the IR emitters light to pass through at the same time block light from the visual spectrum. however since is a wider BP filter i fear that more noise will be detected by the ccd chip from natural light… but further tests will reveal that.
